Activities available from the property will far surpass your expectations during your stay.
* BEACH - We have a beautiful sandy beach at most times of the year right out the doors. Because the reef out front is shallow and goes out for 1/3 of a mile the surf at the beach's edge is very calm. You can float around on air mattresses like you would on a fresh water lake without currents and waves. This allows an extremely safe play area for small children. It is thought that this sandy beach is the largest beachfront (over 450 feet) for a single family home in all of South East or South West Maui.
* WHALE WATCHING is absolutely stunning from the Lanai..Whales are seasonal.
* SNORKELING - You can snorkel and tank dive from our beach as it is a brief 5 minutes swim to the reef to view many varieties of fish as well as huge brain coral. Just off our beach we have a wrasse fish "turtle cleaning" station there. (Wrasse is a kind of fish that clean the algae off the turtles).
* SWIMMING and just hanging out in the water is also fun with a large sandy bottom year-round on the left side of the beach.
* KAYAKING and other water sports are abundant for the novice. With the right conditions the most adventuresome can surf Kayak just outside the reef or just spend a lazy hour or two drifting while you catch the sunset and incredible views from the water of the West Maui mountains.
* WALKING, HIKING AND RUNNING - see history of locations below
Walking to Historical Plantation area
(including the Wharf/Mill foundations) - 30 minutes
Walking to Petroplyphs - 25 minutes
Hiking to Flumes (waterway) - 90-120 minutes round trip
Go to beige water tower as seen behind the house and enter the walkway beside the water flumes to hike into the Olowalu Valley. You will see nature at its best and we have yet to encounter anyone on our many hikes to this area.
Running - Running on the many cane roads and trails behind the house is a wondrous soft trail experience. Current #1 world ranked woman marathoner stayed at the villa while training and ranks this as one of her favorite running experiences.
